RAG is a method where a system retrieves sources first, then generates an answer based on those sources.
Plain English
"Look it up, then write." That's the whole idea.
Why it matters
- It's the reason citations often exist in AI answers.
- It reduces wrong answers, but doesn't eliminate them.
- It makes being retrievable and quotable more important.
